Jordan Paine is an animator focused on using computers as a creative tool for human expression.
He has done work in several different styles including 2D hand drawn, Cutout, and procedurally generated.
In his shorts Jordan likes to blend abstract and figurative imagery to create visual music, tell stories,
and express ideas.
The images and the soundtrack were created by me for this project. Absence is six minutes and thirty seconds in length and was completed November 28th 2024. It was created as an outgrowth of performing live visuals to music. I decided to repurpose a Max patch I programmed for a past performance to fit a new fixed piece of music. It is a back and forth conversation between the music and visuals in both process and form.
